Keto – And Cooking for the Family – Strategies

So cooking for a family can be hard but really it is ONLY AS HARD AS YOU MAKE IT.

Deciding that you want to do keto can throw a wrench into your family meals.

Is it just you and the spouse?   Then maybe they want to try it too.  Solved

Is it you and the spouse and kids and nobody but you is on keto — that is my situation and it is perfectly adaptable but it is not as easy as being single and doing keto just you – duh!

So here are some examples of dinner meals that are super easy to do without driving your family crazy!

YOU are the one you will have to flex so just keep that in mind and it will be easier — you will build your meals around your family meals, not the other way around.

Fathead Pizza — This is one meal where the whole family can do keto for that meal!

Burgers – This is one where you can serve your family burgers with fries (or sweet potato fries) and where you will eat the patty (with either a keto bun or a lettuce or collard wrap or just the patty.  You will add a salad with a fatty dressing and bacon for your veggies and fat and you are all set.

Spaghetti and Meatballs – The family will eat traditional spaghetti.  You will eat palmini noodles or zoodles.  You will pick a sauce that works for all of you — like Raos.   And for the meatballs, you will use ground beef with no binder but use eggs as the binder.   Everyone freaks out about binders online (omg what will I do without bread crumbs) but the reality is that bread crumbs and oatmeal and crackers and all that crap was added to meatballs and meatloaf to use less meat.   So just use meat and add an egg (well beaten) to stick it together.

Stay tuned for more family friendly meal planning!!
